Gig-Economy

Undermining Access.

Favor driver wearing a blue Favor shirt is depicted carrying a Favor delivery bag. They're shown ringing the doorbell of a White House featuring a wooden door.

Ten years ago, you knew who was visiting your gated community . . . the landscaper you used for 15 years and probably services 6-7 other homes in your neighborhood . . . your housekeeper who had been coming through the gate every day for 4 years, the pool cleaner that comes in every Friday, etc. These are invested vendors who had a stake in the safety of your community because their livelihood depended on it. Today it’s another story altogether!
The ‘Gig Economy’ has produced an armada of temporary delivery drivers, delivering everything from food and packages to office supplies and even people.
These drivers are almost “nameless-faceless” people who have something to deliver and, by that alone, demand unfettered access into your neighborhood. What are their qualifications . . . they have a car and downloaded a mobile app. Sometimes the actual driver is using someone else’s car and app. These ‘gig drivers’ are the most likely security risk to gated communities today because if something bad happens, who do you call? Try getting the company they were delivering for give you any information on that driver.
There is likely no way to track them down, so what do you do? Their liability may fall on the community.
To ensure enhanced security and the ability to react if needed, every visitor must be verified and documented before entering your community. Security staff must first confirm the delivery is valid and then get critical information such as the driver’s ID, license plate, date, time, etc. Without this information, security is undermined. Gate Sentry provides a seamless, easy-to-use, and robust visitor access system that can process visitors in 10 seconds or less. Call Gate Sentry to resolve your security concerns.
