Integrating Visitor and Resident Access Tracking with sentry solo

A Unified Approach to Security and Convenience

The importance of tracking visitors in gated communities is widely recognized for security purposes, but the significance of tracking residents’ entries is often underestimated. Resident tracking is crucial for a comprehensive security framework, as it ensures access is granted only to authorized individuals, thereby enhancing overall safety and community management.

Gated communities commonly use clickers, fobs, or RFID tags for access control, but these tools have notable limitations. They can be easily shared or lost, leading to unauthorized access, and they don’t track specific individuals, complicating security analysis. Additionally, RFID tags may fail or not be present on different or loaner vehicles, hindering entry for residents. These factors underscore the need for more advanced and reliable resident tracking solutions.

The Sentry Solo system overcomes these limitations by utilizing a VirtualKey. Whenever a user opens the entry with their VirtualKey, the action is logged in their history, including the date and time, and this data is accessible via the admin portal. This approach ensures individualized tracking, minimizes risks associated with physical access devices, and provides comprehensive access data for enhanced security oversight.
